Marked by extremes of a semi-arid climate and rugged landscape, our Red Barn wines taste as smooth and rich as the land and the summer season they were grown in. Starting on the nose, you’re greeted with wild blueberries, violets and red plums. Our medium-bodied Merlot then overflows with flavours of black cherry, more blueberries, coffee and spice. Smooth, delightful, with a long finish that has touches of cedar from oak aging.
Our Merlot pairs well with wine-braised stews, roasted duck and fresh pasta with marinara sauce. Its fruit forward style makes it a natural companion for Comté. Few “go-to ingredients” we particularly enjoy are rosemary, thyme, black olive and dried berries.
