Generally speaking, we followed tradition in making this year’s Pinot Gris with a roughly 50/50 blend from our Southern Okanagan vineyards and our Home Block vineyard on the slopes of Okanagan Lake. Each location provided a little ripeness and brightness respectively. After hand-harvesting, the grapes were whole-bunch pressed to protect colour and phenolics. Ten percent was fermented in barrel (some new oak to give a base level of spice). This is not an oaky wine by any means, just our usual Pinot Gris with a little texture and mouthfeel on the palate.
